About Duane
Duane's love of nature started when he was just a child in Lower Michigan.
He would spend hours outdoors watching animals in their natural environment fascinated by how they interacted, the texture of their fur and their individual personalities.
Duane began at an early age to create his pieces in multiple mediums. Although he was artistically talented and enjoyed art life sent him on a path that left little time to pursue it.
Finally after fourteen years without so much as picking up a pencil he decided it was time to work with his talent again. What began as challenge led him to see that he still had the desire and ability which quickly developed into something more.
What he discovered was even though unpracticed, after so many years, it came back to him as if no time had passed.
Once started, the decision that he would finally pursue his natural talent was easily made.
Duane currently resides in Minot, ND. He is a wildlife artist dedicated to capturing an animal's individual character, intensity and soul in each of his drawings-just as he saw them all those years ago.
Artist In residency
Duane has been invited as a visiting artist in Yellowstone National Park and his pieces have been sold around the world.
